    Early Life

    Dean Norris was born on April 8, 1963 in South Bend, Indiana. He attended Clay High School and graduated in 1981 as the class valedictorian. While in high school, he was a member of the award-winning student-produced comedy show "Beyond Our Control." He then enrolled at Harvard College where he studied the interdisciplinary concentration of Social Studies. He was also a member of Hasty Pudding Theatricals. He graduated from Harvard in 1985. After completing his studies at Harvard, he earned his diploma from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 1987.

    While on "Beyond Our Control," Norris appeared in 13 episodes of the program in 1981. After graduating from Harvard, he appeared in the film "Blind Alleys" in 1985. In 1987, he appeared in an episode of "The Equalizer." The following year, in 1988, he appeared in "Leap of Faith" and "Police Story: Gladiator School." He then had a role in "Beauty in the Beast" in 1989. The same year, he appeared in three films: "Police Academy 6: City Under Siege," "Disorganized Crime," and "Lethal Weapon 2."     Norris faced some legal trouble in 2017 when a 32-year-old woman in Ohio accused him of sexually assaulting her while in New Orleans. However, in February of 2018, the New Orleans police declined to charge him, citing insufficient evidence.
